Thunder Faith (サンダーフェイス Sandaa Feisu) is a doujin shoot-em' up game developed in 2011 by Yuyusansan.

While the game features characters from Touhou Project, it has several influences from the Thunder Force series, mostly Thunder Force V.

Gameplay

The player controls Sanae Kochiya, who is equipped with the weapons used by the RVRs (with the Free Way weapon belonged to Fire LEO-04 "Rynex"), along with three CRAW units, allowing the player to use an Over Weapon. The player can also create chains to increase the score.

Weapons and Over-Weapons

• Twin Shot/Sever (Sword) - One of two main weapon derived from all RVRs. The Over-Weapon functions as Sword in Thunder Force V.
• Back Fire/Lancer (Chain) - The back shot from the RVRs. For unknown reasons, the Over-Weapon is named Lancer despite it functions as a hybrid of Chain and Rail Gun.
• Wave/Miracle Wind (Spell) - The weapon of Fire LEO-03 "Styx" & RVR-00 "Phoenix" that fires wave shots. The Over-Weapon is unique from any games whatsoever since it is based on Sanae's Spell Card: Miracle God's Wind in Touhou Fuujinroku: Mountain of Faith.
• Free Way/Free Range (Whip) - The successor of Nova equipped by Fire LEO-04 "Rynex". The Over-Weapon is its own successor equipped by the RVRs, which by definition is the strongest weapon at its debut and had its own Over-Weapon (Aiming Shock) in Thunder Force V.
• Hunter/Spread Needle - The famous weapon first used by Fire LEO-02 "Exceliza". The Over-Weapon functions the same way as it did for RVR-01 "Gauntlet"/RVR-02 "Vambrace".

Touhou Project References

• Usually, Utsuho uses her own attacks derived from Touhou Chireiden: Subterranean Animism. Only one attack (Surface-to-Air Lasers) is akin to A3 from Thunder Force V.

Thunder Force V References

• One of Youmu's attacks draws parallel to Guardian's Knight's Laser Cage attack.
• One of Reimu's Yin-Yang configurations bares a resemblance to the 3rd Extra Weapon Bay of Vasteel Original complete with screen-covering bullet rain.

Sanae and the RVRs

• Sanae's colors are reminiscent of those of the RVR series (and the Styx Rev.2 from the cancelled Thunder Force VI). The green canopy is nodded on her hair, while her clothes are the airframe of the RVRs due to the white and blue colors.
• If she has to be compared with a particular model, it would be either the RVR-02 "Vambrace" or the RVR-00 "Phoenix".
  • Her sleveless shirt is the main body of the RVR-02/RVR-00.
  • The detached sleeves are the Craw Control Systems of both RVRs.
  • Sanae's skirt could be the Brigandine, effectively nodding the fully equipped RVR-02/RVR-00. This Brigandine reference is heavily reinforced when Sanae is depicted with the skirt covering most of her legs.
