Gorgon is the second stage from Thunder Force III.
Details
Gorgon is one of the planets from the ORN System, being a volcanic planet. This is the first level in the game where the player must watch over for the terrain, with many fire pillars ascending from the lava pits and molten rocks flying about besides the usual waves of enemies. Halfway through the scrolling speeds up until the midboss is defeated.
Trivia
- Gorgon is named after the Gorgon, a female, humanoid monster with snakes for their hair, that can turn people to stone with a single gaze. The most well-known of the Gorgons was Medusa, who was slain by Perseus in his quest to save Andromeda.
