Hydra is the first stage from Thunder Force III.

Details

Hydra is one of the planets from the ORN System, being characterized by its dense forests. The level is very straightforward with no real obstacles, only waves of enemies for the player to deal with. A good portion of the level is covered by thick vines which cover the screen. Halfway through is a sequence of missiles on the top and bottom which shoot and detonate when the player passes through them.

Trivia

• Hydra is named after the Hydra, a six-headed serpent from Greek mythology that Hercules needed to slay as part of his twelve labors, the monster grows two heads for every one that is decapitated.
